Nippers Programme

Fun, Fitness, and Future Lifesavers.

Nippers is a fun-filled beach safety and development program for children aged 10 to 14 years, designed to help them enjoy the beach responsibly while learning the basics of lifesaving and lifesaving sports.

The program focuses on confidence, teamwork, and safety awareness, introducing kids to activities such as games, wading, and paddling in a secure and supervised environment.
Nippers do not perform patrol duties, nor does the program include specific swimming or stroke training — instead, it builds the foundation for future lifeguards and lifesavers.

This seasonal program is typically conducted during weekends or long holidays. On successful completion, participants receive Certificates of Merit.

Many Nippers programs are organized for underprivileged youth from fishing communities, offering them valuable opportunities to develop skills, discipline, and confidence — helping them transition into lifeguard training at age 16 and pursue a sustainable livelihood.
